How about a free laptop?

Now this sounds like a dream come true, doesn't it? If someone were to offer you a free laptops, basically out of the high thin air, how many of you wouldn't accept it? Really, would someone who's not really swimming in money really turn this type of offer down? Well...

Obviously, the more people there are, the more opinions on any topic we have, and I bet there are some of your out there ready and willing to throw any offer you make back into your face. But that's an exception.

I talked about it all in what-if form, but if you weren't aware of it, you actually can get a laptop for free and there are no sweepstakes or contests involved. The truth is that these days you can stumble on an offer where the free laptop is just a side-product to the actual product sold. And the side-product has obviously been included mainly for the sake of better promotion and more sales.

Many broadband connection providers around the world offer you free laptop deals together with your broadband order. And in most cases, it doesn't really matter that they offer you a free expensive co-product. Additionally you can sometimes also get a mobile broadband stick (and the internet connection that comes with it) that you can use to connect your laptop to internet even without any wireless networks nearby. This type of mobile broadband stick is called a dongle.

Independent of the "free gifts", your monthly fee isn't usually affected by it. Rather, the most common "catch" there is, is the contract length you need to sign up for. If you need the product anyhow, then these offers are definitely something to think about. Just look around the websites of your local broadband connection providers and you äre bound to find at least something similar.

Of course, if you'd be signing up for a 12-24 month contract just for the sake of getting the free computer, it would be cheaper for you to just buy the laptop instead.
