Do you own a laptop? Do you often want or need to work in cafeterias? Coffee and laptops is meant for you. This site was started because I'm myself a major fan of coffee...and laptops. I have worked in cafeterias with free wireless internet for pretty much the past seven years. Even now that I actually have an office, I love working in cafeterias every once in a while. It's kind of an addiction you might say. Are you one of us?

Cruel Valentine's Day Joke

Little Melissa comes home from 1st grade & tells her father that they learned about the history of Valentine's Day.
'Since Valentine's Day is for a Christian saint, and we're Jewish,' she asks, 'Will God get mad at me for giving someone a valentine?
Melissa's father thinks a bit, then says: 'No, I don't think God would get mad... Whom do you want to give a Valentine to?'
'Osama Bin Laden,' she says.
'Why Osama Bin Laden?' her father asks in shock.
'Well,' she says, 'I thought that if a little American Jewish girl could have enough love to give Osama ...

Government workers denied to text while driving

Barack Obama has banned US government workers to send text messages while driving in order to address the number of accidents caused by it.
The funny, weird, idiotic fact however, is that it's really just government workers, not the everyday Joe's who got banned.
If the law was created to make people safer and lessen the number of accidents caused by stupidity, shouldn't it be a ban for everyone?
I get it that by not letting the federal employees get into accidents that much, the US government gets to keep some millions of tax payer money again, but the law is about safety, not abou...

That's why you should always travel with your laptop

Travelling should be a time out-time for you, so not always would you want to take your laptop with you. But on the other hand, always keeping you laptop, or at least a phone with you when travelling overseas might avoid a lot of problems. I recently saw a video of a guy who had gone traveling overseas for two weeks, turned his phone out because of the calling charges, he didn't have a travel laptop with him and what was the result? Well, two things. First, he realised his girl was a bitch. Second - he was dumped. See the video below -

What to do with your not working laptop?

I have three different laptops sitting on my office table. Dell Latitude D630, Acer Aspire One and one laptop by a local provider, Ordi Enduro. The first two are working, but Ordi laptop, the white gay piece of hardware, stopped functioning a while ago. Or actually it didn't completely stop working, but ... well, imagine a laptop which works only when you move it around in the air. Motherboard is probably screwed, heck if I know...but as the battery of it was pretty dead already anyhow, and similar laptop could be bought for the price of a new battery, then why try to get the not working lapto...

Ireland returns to Dark Ages

Ireland has made blasphemy illegal, threatening all free-thinkers with a fine up to €25,000. In most general terms, you just can't be rude. In a bit more detailed view, it threatens the free speech and discriminates all the non-believers. I'm really surprised US government didn't come to it first. Well, anyway...
If I was an irishman in Ireland, then speaking my mind would be a fellony, meaning I could be prosecuted and fined. I'd say that I'm an atheist or maybe an agnostic, and I have nothing against people who believe. I have a number of christian friends. But I do have something again...

Random thoughts

I have my laptop with me, the name of the site is Coffee and Laptops but right now I feel like it could rather be Coffee and Cigarettes. I've been sitting in this airport (Riga, Latvia) the past four hours and will be here for another three. Hopefully, if nothing comes up, my flight leaves in time. What made me sit here for seven hours? Simple answer would be "Moronic decisions". I have drank a lot of coffee, smoked like a package of cigarettes and haven't slept a minute. It's 8.30am. Tried to access local wireless here but...well, independent of whether I tried via phone, sms or credit card, ...

List of cheap low-cost airlines and cheap airline fares and some mumbling

Whenever I decide to go travelling, I start to go through different cheap airline sites. It really depends which ones, obviously I won't be looking for cheap international flights if I just want to a few thousand miles away or France or Portugal, for example.
Though in all honesty, usually when I do decide I want to go travelling, I might have some idea where I want to go, but by the end of the day it all depends on from which sites I can find cheap airline tickets and into which countries. It doesn't really matter if it's far far away on another continent or just nearby (well, starting fr...

Read the fucking manual

I remember I was at a friend's house, we were just connecting my laptop to a video projector when my Acer Aspire One touchpad stopped working. I figured it can't be anything big as...well, things usually don't stop working for no obvious reasons. And as it turns out, it didn't.
Getting the laptop's screen show on your wall using a video projector requires Fn+F5/6 click. And as the switch took a few seconds, obviously I tried some other combinations as well.
And now, of course, I found a forum post where others with similar problems were suggested to read the manual - Fn+F7 enables/disab...
